Volvo ReCharge Plug-in Hybrid Concept Car is being Road Tested

12196_1_5.jpgThe Volvo ReCharge plug-in hybrid is currently being road tested in Sweden. This hybrid vehicle is built on the Volvo C30 model. It is still uncertain if this vehicle will ever make it to the streets. Lets hope that it does, as it looks great and claims to get over 60 MPG. Volvo is currently working on this plug-in hybrid concept car as a part of a larger program to develop hybrid powertrains for its vehicles. Volvo recently announced a partnership with Saab, the Swedish government, battery provider ETC, and energy company Vattenfall, for a five-year plan to develop plug-in hybrids. The consortium’s goal is to produce a fleet of 10 plug-in hybrid cars. Volvo also announced it will offer a hybrid model of one or more of its existing models within five years.

  1. This car looks real slick. I know you said that it is uncertain if it will hit the streets, but from the looks of this car I think they should definitely do it. I’ve never been a big fan of Volvo, but I think they’re onto something here…

  2. I have to agree. The car is amazing! The whole concept is absolutely mind blowing. Even though I am not much of a Volvo lover, the Volvo c30 model is HEAVEN so I’m actually pretty psyched about this.
