Demand for hybrid and low fuel consumption cars is most certainly increasing, with a number of large rental companies struggling to keep up with demand. What many fail to get right is that providing an "upgrade" to a big, juicy SUV is not the appropriate way to satisfy a customer who requests a hybrid when the company has no more available. This seems to be happening a great deal, however.
