Fisker Karma Plug-In Hybrid On Track For Q4 2009
Fisker Automotive is currently testing its Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid sedan by rolling out 5 prototypes in Southern California. This is great news as it looks like this car will be available for purchase in the near future. The hybrid vehicle is expected to retail for about $80,000 and they are planning on a Q4 2009 release date.
The Karma will be capable of driving in electric only mode for distances up to 50 miles and a top speed of 95 mph. When the car operates as a conventional hybrid, the gasoline engine will be able to increase the top speed to 125 mph with a 0-60 speed of under 6 seconds.
Fisker was recently sued by Tesla Motors, but Fisker doesn’t think this will delay the release of the Karma.
